Harry & Dianne Pretty - Senior Pastors

Pastor Harry and Dianne Pretty are the Senior Pastors of The Gathering Place in Slave Lake, Alberta.
Pastor Harry and Dianne were both born in Port-Aux Basques, NL. It was in this town that Harry gave his heart to the Lord at 20 years of age.
It was after Harry’s conversion that he met Dianne, and later married her in 1979.  She is still his soul mate and best friend. Together they have two sons, Jonathan (Bethany), Daniel (Megan) and grandchildren - Blake, Jackson and Bircklyn.
Together they support Harry in ministry 100%.

A few words from Pastor Harry

I felt the call of God on my life, but at first refused to heed to him.. So I took my wife and family and started to run from God. But I soon realized that once God has called you, you cannot get away from it. God will find you.
It was in December of 1984 that I sent my application for Bible College. I’ve never been sorry for that decision. It has changed my life forever.
My passion for the Ministry is the result of a burning hunger to see the presence of God move in the hearts and lives of his people.
I truly believe that every member of the church has a vital role to fulfill in the church. I believe that each person has their own personal destiny in the Lord and has been equipped with callings and giftings. It is my desire, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to help each one realize their destinies, discover their giftings, and fulfill their callings.
For me, Pastoring is more than a job. It is God’s calling on my life. I truly believe that God has anointed me for this role and I approach this call humbly before the Lord. It is my utmost desire to be faithful and true to this call on my life.
My goal and vision is not just to lead people to Christ, but once they have committed themselves to Christ, to help them discover their spiritual gifts to they can function in the Kingdom of God. I believe that teaching and discipleship is essential as Matthew 28:18-20 states, “Go make disciples.”
We need people who are passionately serving Jesus in the Kingdom of God.
